U Matter was born from lived experience.
Before we were providers, we were parents navigating the disability support system alongside our son, Jasper.
♡ Our Story
We know what it feels like to sit on the other side of a service agreement. To place enormous trust in the people supporting someone you love. To ask questions, navigate funding and services, and sometimes wish communication had been clearer or that you had been more informed and included along the way.
Those experiences shaped the kind of provider we wanted to create.
Not one built around numbers, plans or filling shifts.
One built around people.
Why We Started U Matter
At the heart of U Matter is a simple belief:
The person receiving support should always matter most.
We created U Matter because we wanted something better — for our own family and for other participants and families navigating the same system.
Support that is ethical.
Communication that is open and honest.
Choices that are respected.
Workers who genuinely care about the person they’re supporting.
And a relationship where participants and families feel comfortable asking questions, speaking up and being part of the conversation.
We know firsthand that the little things aren’t little when someone you love is receiving support.

U Matter is a family-owned and operated disability support provider founded by Sarah and Benjamin Lines.
Our experience isn’t only professional. It’s personal.
As parents of a young person with disability, we’ve spent years navigating supports, providers, service agreements and the realities that exist behind the paperwork.
That perspective comes with us into everything we do.
We understand that behind every NDIS plan is a human being with their own personality, preferences, goals, challenges, relationships and life they want to live.
We also understand the trust families place in the people who step into that life.
We don’t take that lightly.
Meet Our Founders
Sarah Lines
Co-founder & Director
Sarah brings lived experience as a parent navigating disability supports alongside a deep commitment to advocacy, communication and person-centred care.
Her experiences on the participant and family side of the NDIS became one of the driving forces behind U Matter.
Sarah believes participants deserve to understand their supports, have a genuine voice in how they’re delivered and always be treated as a person first — never simply as a plan or funding allocation.
Ben Lines
Co-founder & Director
Ben shares the lived experience behind U Matter and the belief that good support begins with respect, reliability and genuine human connection.
As both a father and co-founder, he understands the responsibility that comes with being trusted to support another person’s wellbeing, independence and everyday life.
Together, Sarah and Ben created U Matter to provide the standard of care, communication and integrity they would expect for their own family.
